Dear Valued Patients:

I hope this newsletter finds you and your family in good health. I wanted to take this time to touch base with you on our continued efforts to serve our patients in the safest way possible. We have been and will continue to follow all of the current American Dental Association (ADA), Center For Disease Control (CDC), and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines.

As a recap:

  1. Our staff continues to wear the required PPE and are following all CDC, ADA, and OSHA guidelines.
  2. Staff is screened daily for any signs of illness.
  3. We have added Air Purifiers in all patient rooms as well as in our lobby This system purifies the air every 15-30 minutes using a medical-grade HEPA filter. (
  4. Please expect a call from us prior to your appointment where you will be asked some pre-screening questions. (Fever, any symptoms, travel, exposure).
  5. Patients’ temperature will be taken upon entering the office.
  6. Patients are to wear face coverings at all times except during their dental procedures.

I would also like to share some information with you regarding keeping up with your dental care during the Covid-19 Crisis. There has been a lot of research on the effects of poor oral health and the severity of Covid-19. A healthy oral cavity acts as a barrier against all kinds of diseases, this is also true for COVID-19.

I have included two links to articles describing the correlation between gum disease and the severity of Covid-19.

Now is not the time to neglect your dental health. Brushing two times a day, flossing, and a healthy diet is key. It is also imperative that you keep up with your hygiene appointments as well as any outstanding treatment appointments.

What’s Been Happening at RRD?

Our staff has been working tirelessly catching up on patient appointments from the shutdown and following all of the extra safety protocols. Although some things have changed due to COVID we still find time to celebrate our staff and their accomplishments!

In June we celebrated Dr. Showalter’s 20th Anniversary with Rock River Dental and Dr. Trimbell’s 1 year anniversary!

Your senior year of high school or college is supposed to be one of the best years of your life. Unfortunately, our kids missed those “lasts” and milestones that come with your senior year. We wanted to find a way to celebrate our local seniors and let them know we are proud of them!  We were excited to spotlight them on our Facebook page and give them each a small gift appreciation!

Friendly Reminder

Due to the high volume of appointments coming in after the period of the shutdown we kindly ask that you please let us know at least 24 hours in advance when making any changes to an appointment so that we may accommodate those who have been waiting.  While we know things can come up last minute, giving us advanced notice not only allows us to make sure we can rebook your appointment in a timely matter but enables us to fill those valuable appointment times for others.
